| Will Conway has had an undeniable love for film ever since his directorial debut at the age of 12 bringing the classic Steinbeck novel ‘The Pearl’ to the year seven class room. Will has worked for a number of years within the industry in roles as varied as cinema usher to regional marketing and back, currently in a position within the GU film department. Will loves all things ‘not cool’ including spending way too much time on the Xbox, comic book films and any form of Star Wars merchandise. |

Law Abiding Citizen is the latest outing for Gerard Butler, and it’s a revenge flick with a difference. Butler plays Clyde, an unassuming everyman who is the victim of a callous home invasion where his wife and child are brutally murdered in front of him. When the Judicial system fails him, he takes it upon himself to exact revenge and the result is a pretty slick film that will have you guessing who are the good guys and who are the bad guys right up until it’s climax. Supported onscreen by Jamie Foxx, who plays the resident District Attorney, both Foxx and Butler are pretty solid in their roles. There is at times some pretty graphic scenes and the film plays like a mixture between PAYBACK and SAW. That being said, I think the tone really suits the film and you get this ever increasing sense that this guys (Clyde) is both brilliant and hell bent on revenge to the n’th degree. Law Abiding Citizen is a slick revenge flick with decent amounts of blood for the guys and intrigue for the rest. Look out for it in cinemas from Jan 28th. |
