A huge supporter of the local film and arts industry, and has a genuine passion for it, being at several times, in front, behind and next to the camera too. | Will Conway has had an undeniable love for film ever since his directorial debut at the age of 12 bringing the classic Steinbeck novel ‘The Pearl’ to the year seven class room. Will has worked for a number of years within the industry in roles as varied as cinema usher to regional marketing and back, currently in a position within the GU film department. Will loves all things ‘not cool’ including spending way too much time on the Xbox, comic book films and any form of Star Wars merchandise. |

| X-Files movie is no funny business for Billy Connolly |

Billy Connolly is a funny guy- so what's he doing as a tortured Catholic priest who may or may not be psychic in The X-Files: I Want to Believe? Connolly was surprised when he got a call from director/co-writer Chris Carter inviting him in for a chat. Then doubly surprised when Carter briefed him on Father Joe's dark secret. "When Chris told me about Father Joe, I knew I must do the part- and thus horrify my family and friends," he says. "The scariest thing for me was learning that Chris had me in mind when he wrote the character." The stand-up comic and actor has specialized in comedic roles in Lemony Snicket: A Series of Unfortunate Events, Fido, Garfield 2 and Oz pic The Man Who Sued God. But he has taken on dramatic roles in films like Mrs Brown and The Last Samurai. "I like acting because it amuses me greatly to try to be someone I'm not," he says. "And I like the way it divides up my life between comedy and drama. "The most worrying thing is that the darker the character, the easier I find it. If he's a really nice, intelligent man I find it awfully difficult to play him."  |
