The Australian love affair with Avatar is still as strong as ever with the film remaining it's hold of the number film in the country and taking an estimated $5.5 million in the last week - pushing the film to an astonishing $84.7 million. James Cameron's Avatar is still the number one film at the U.S box office and according to boxofficeguru.com, the film has become the first since his very own Titanic to rule the box office for six straight weekends. Taking an estimated $36 million over the weekend, Avatar has now moved to $552.8 million in only 38 days of release. Well, AVATAR has hit $68 million in Australia, WOW! Just stop and think about that for a moment. The next biggest film was TITANIC on $58.5 and it looked as if no-one would ever come close, then AVATAR produces that amount of B.O. dollar in 4 weeks, crazy.
