According to Variety - the next musician to appear on the big screen may be the one and only Jimi Hendrix. It's been reported Legendary Pictures will create a feature film about the legendary guitarist. It's no surprise this has happened. With the 40th anniversary of Woodstock, Hendrix sent the crowd into euphoria with his performance of 'The Star-Spangled Banner'. There may be one hurdle though - acquiring rights to the Hendriz estate has been a problem in the past. No one... Find out more... | 0 Comments |

Christopher Nolan is responsible for some of my favourite films of all time, Memento, The Prestige and The Dark Knight. His new opus, which was penned by both him and his brother (similar to his other works) is INCEPTION. Not much is known about the film other than it stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page and Cillian Murphy. It’s about a corporate type that is involved in some form of blackmail situation, or is he? Rumours are rife on the web whether this is one of those flicks t... Find out more... | 0 Comments |

If you’ve been in orbit around Proxima century for the last decade, then you may not have heard about a little film called AVATAR, releasing this December. Written and directed by James Cameron and his first feature film since Titanic in 1997, it tells the story of a paraplegic Marine, played by Australia’s own Sam Worthington, whom is sent to the distant mining colony on the moon Pandora. Here, he is given the ability to control a genetic hybrid of both his and the native’s (Na’vi) DNA, allowin... Find out more... | 0 Comments |

Due for release in 2010, the film will see a combination of three of the funniest guys in Hollywood. Steve Carell is hilarious - think Anchorman, Get Smart, etc. Paul Rudd took off with his performance in I Love You, Man and Galifianakis stole the show in The Hangover and is sure to feature in many mo... According to the Hollywood Reporter, Josh Zetumer has signed on to write the script for the fourth film in the hugely successful Bourne series. I've loved all three films so far and can't wait to see the fourth edition due for release in 2011 - it's been awhile since a film kept you involved without too much effort but enough action and suspense like all three films so far. When one thinks of Australian films, particularly of late, images of schlock horror spring to mind (Dying Breed anyone?). It seems though that this trend towards the immature audience is somewhat reversing, with some genuine quality films coming from our industry of late. Earlier in the year we were treated to the Cannes winning ‘Samson and Delilah’ which is still taking money at the box office and looks like it will end up with a tally north of $2.5 million. Last night was the Sydney premiere for Inglourious Basterds held at The State Theatre and the man himself Quentin Tarantino was here to intro the show. I have been waiting to see this film for some time, and unlike many nerds, I held off on reading the script before I saw the film. That was hard. But worth it, I didn’t want to spoil any surprises.
